Banking on Trees 2022 Media Release

Friday, July 22, 2022 / Community

BankWAW believes in giving back to the communities we serve, which means giving back to the local environment. For every new account, or loan, BankWAW will plant a tree to help revegetate, regenerate and rehabilitate the local native bushland. It’s all about loving where we live, and investing in our communities for the future.

This year, through its partnership with Parklands Albury Wodonga, BankWAW is holding a Banking on Trees Planting Day where locals have been invited to come along and get involved on the day and help contribute to a better climate, support biodiversity and create a better living condition for local communities.

Well known for being community focused, CEO, Michael Mack said, “BankWAW’s purpose is built around being ethical and putting environmental sustainability at the centre of our operations.” After a few years of cancellations due to COVID restrictions, the Planting Day is going ahead on Sunday 24 July, from 9am to 12pm at Murray River Regional Park, the end of Carrolls Road, West Wodonga.

“I think it is perfect timing for our event given the recent release of the State of the Environment Report by the Federal Government “, said Michael Mack.
