Sending money online should be simple and safe. That is why we have introduced Confirmation of Payee, a new security feature now available in Online Banking and our Mobile App. 

How it works: 

  • Enter the recipient’s BSB, account number and account name. 

  • The system checks those details with the recipient’s bank. 

  • You will see a result to help you decide about the payment.

  • You can then decide whether to proceed, double-check the details, or stop the payment altogether. 

  • Please note, CoP looks at the full legal account name. With personal accounts, this means you should enter the full first and last names of the account holder (or any one of the joint account holders). CoP will return “No Match” if you use the receiving customer’s initials.

The results are:

Payment details match – all is good! 
Close match – did you make a typo?
No match – check the account details with the recipient 
Error – the service cannot confirm the account 

Confirmation of Payee gives you greater confidence when sending money. It adds a new layer of security for you or your business by helping you avoid scams and mistaken payments.
