Chief Executive Officer

From CSO to CEO… Michael joined BankWAW in 1994 as Customer Service Officer. Since then Michael held many different roles such as Corporate Development Manager and Executive Manager- Retail Services, before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2016. However, his time behind the counter in the branch has stuck with him. He still believes in being genuinely enthusiastic about making someone’s day better. To this day, Michael looks forward to meeting everyone who joins BankWAW. In his spare time you will most likely find him next to a basketball court coaching his team.


Ross Kearney

Chief Risk Officer / Regulatory Services Manager

After working as a lawyer for a few decades, Ross joined WAW Credit Union; now BankWAW, in 2011 as the Regulatory Services Manager. This role has evolved into responsibility for all risk and compliance functions. Ross assists with a variety of regulatory issues that WAW has to deal with and as Chief Risk Officer he is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the BankWAW Risk Management Framework. Interesting fact, Ross & his wife Fiona own a vineyard at Beechworth, and produce their own wine – Madman’s Gully Syrah. (a French style Shiraz). We taste tested and it got a thumbs up. Ross also has a small collection of hats that appear at work from time to time.


Glenys Whitehead

People, Sales and Marketing Manager

Glenys joined BankWAW in 2018 as People and Culture Manager. She has added to her portfolio over the years with, Marketing, Retail and Insurance and is now People, Sales and Marketing Manager. Glenys brings many years of National and International retail experience having lived and worked in both the UK and Sweden. You will find her based at our Head Office in Wodonga. In her spare time Glenys likes to travel and is attempting to learn to play golf. 


Vincent McFarlane

Chief Financial Officer B.Bus (Acc) CPA MBA (Marketing) GAICD MIML

Vincent joined BankWAW in 2021 as Chief Financial Officer, bringing with him significant prior experience in GM and C-suite roles in both the commercial and NFP sectors. Vincent has also undertaken extensive post graduate study having the unique combination of both a CPA and an MBA in Marketing, alongside being a Graduate Member of the AICD. You will find him based in Wodonga Admin Office. After hours Vincent likes to have a round of golf or visit wineries both near and far.


Frank Sergi

IT and Systems Manager

Frank joined BankWAW in 2007 and is our IT and Systems Manager. This role monitors the efficiency and optimal performance of the organisations technology systems. Our favourite IT advice, have you tried turning it off and on? All jokes aside, Frank regularly liaises with other managers regarding system requirements and is leading our digitalisation and modern workplace transformation. On the weeknights and weekends you find Frank, supporting his kids in a number of their artistic and sporting activities. He plays 4 different Saxophones (not all at once), and has been a member (sometimes President) of the Albury City Band for over 30 years. He follows motor sports, and is a Carlton Blues and Parramatta Eels supporter.


Tanya Finnen

Digital Transformation Manager

Tanya joined BankWAW in 2024 as the Digital Transformation Manager. She brings with her a wealth of expertise in leadership roles across various sectors, including public health, utilities, and state government.  Tanya has successfully led digital modernisation, transformation, and cybersecurity programs. In addition to her new position at BankWAW, Tanya is a lifelong learner who completed her MBA in 2018. She also holds various non-executive director positions in the local area. Outside of work, Tanya enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, often accompanied by good food and wine. She also finds solace in the outdoors, taking the opportunity to recharge and unwind with her beloved family schnauzer, Jules. Tanya is an enthusiastic, albeit novice swimmer, and is actively working on gaining greater confidence in ocean swimming. Tanya is also passionate about staying informed of world events and geopolitics and is an advocate for equitable healthcare for the border regional communities.
